How active-contact billing works
Since March 2026, ManyChat counts only the people who interacted with your account in a month. Followers who never message you cost nothing, which suits large accounts with quiet audiences.
Each plan includes a set number of active contacts and charges for every contact above it. The rate falls on bigger plans, so the cheapest plan for your size is not always the smallest one. At 10,000 active contacts, Business at $99 plus overage comes to $162, which is less than Pro with overage or Advanced.
What the free plan covers
The free plan includes Instagram and comment-to-DM for up to 25 active contacts a month, on two channels and four live automations. Messages carry ManyChat branding. It is enough to test a flow, but a single giveaway can use it up.
Costs on top of the plan
- Extra inbox seats. Each plan includes a fixed number of inbox seats, and each extra seat costs $25 a month.
- AI replies. ManyChat AI comes with Pro and above. It is not available on Free or Essential.
- WhatsApp. If you add WhatsApp from Pro upward, Meta charges its own conversation fees.
Essential and Pro have a 14-day trial that needs a card. ManyChat’s pricing page also mentions a refund if you cancel within 30 days.
