ManyChat alternatives for Instagram: cheaper and free options in 2026
Updated:
If price is why you are leaving ManyChat, SendPulse is the closest full replacement. It costs $22 a month for 1,000 contacts against $39 on ManyChat, and the plan includes a CRM and payment buttons in the chat. If you only use ManyChat to send a link when someone comments a keyword, Chatfuel does that for free with no stated contact limit.
Why people leave ManyChat
Price comes up first. ManyChat’s free plan covers 25 active contacts, so a small account outgrows it within days of its first giveaway. At 1,000 active contacts you are on Pro at $39 a month. At 10,000 the bill reaches $162 with Business and overage.
Reddit threads on this topic say the same thing. Their titles ask for affordable or free alternatives, not better ones.
Teams hit a second wall. A shared inbox for several people starts on the Business plan at $99 a month, and each extra seat costs more. ManyChat’s own pages also do not describe a built-in CRM, so sales tracking happens somewhere else.
Leaving has a cost. ManyChat documents every Instagram trigger we track, including replies to your stories and a follow-to-DM beta. Every tool below misses at least one of them.

1. SendPulse
Best for: selling through DMs, and a lower bill at up to 10,000 contacts
- 1K contacts
- $22
- 10K contacts
- $74
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- Rated 4.4 out of 5
What you gain. The bill drops to $22 a month at 1,000 contacts and $74 at 10,000. A CRM with deal stages is included for free, and the chat can take payments through 13 providers, including Stripe, PayPal and Mercado Pago. The free plan includes Instagram for up to 500 subscribers, which is twenty times what ManyChat’s free plan allows.
What you give up. SendPulse’s help center does not describe triggers for replies to your stories or for new followers. It also bills by every subscriber stored in your bots. A big list that rarely writes back can cost more here than on ManyChat, which counts only active contacts.

2. Chatfuel
Best for: comment-to-DM at no cost
- 1K contacts
- Free
- 10K contacts
- Free
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- Rated 3.2 out of 5
What you gain. Chatfuel’s comment autoreply is free, and its landing page states no limit on contacts or messages. When you need more, the full platform with a team inbox and AI replies is $20 a month, and paid plans do not charge per contact.
What you give up. You cannot take payments in the chat. Chatfuel’s help center says Stripe and PayPal cannot be connected. AI replies draw from a monthly credit wallet, so heavy use costs extra.

3. InstantDM
Best for: a flat price with every Instagram trigger
- 1K contacts
- $12
- 10K contacts
- $12
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- Rated 4.3 out of 5
What you gain. The Legend Pro plan is $12 a month whatever your contact count. InstantDM documents every Instagram feature we track except broadcasts, including triggers for live comments and new followers. Its AI agent runs on your own AI provider key, such as OpenAI or Claude, so there is no per-message AI fee.
What you give up. It covers Instagram and Facebook only. The AI agent needs the Trendsetter plan at $30. The company was founded in 2025, so it has a short track record.

4. LinkDM
Best for: sending links after comments, on a free plan
- 1K contacts
- Free
- 10K contacts
- $19
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- No score
What you gain. The free plan sends 1,000 DMs a month. The Pro plan at $19 raises that to 25,000 DMs across three Instagram accounts, which is enough for most creators.
What you give up. There is no AI agent, and no shared inbox where a person can take over the chat. The free plan only works on your last ten posts. LinkDM’s site has no about page and names no company beyond a footer credit.
5. ReplyRush
Best for: the largest free DM allowance
- 1K contacts
- Free
- 10K contacts
- $25
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- Rated 4.5 out of 5
What you gain. The free plan allows 1,500 DMs a month, the most on this page. The Boost plan is $25 for 40,000 DMs. ReplyRush also documents a follow-gated DM, which asks people to follow you before the link arrives.
What you give up. Public replies under the comment are not on the free plan. There is no AI agent or shared inbox. Its Trustpilot score is high but rests on only 24 reviews.

6. CreatorFlow
Best for: a simple setup for a solo creator
- 1K contacts
- $15
- 10K contacts
- $30
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- Rated 4.0 out of 5
What you gain. CreatorFlow does one job with little to configure. Pro costs $15 a month for 5,000 DMs, and Growth costs $30 for 10,000 DMs and five team seats.
What you give up. It works on Instagram only. Its pages describe neither story mentions nor public comment replies, and they do not mention a multi-step flow builder. Like InstantDM, it launched in 2025.

7. Kommo
Best for: a sales team that already works from a CRM pipeline
- 1K contacts
- $35
- 10K contacts
- $45
- Free plan
- No
- Rating
- Rated 2.3 out of 5
What you gain. Kommo is a full sales CRM, with Instagram and WhatsApp chats inside it. Comment automation runs through its Salesbot from the Advanced plan at $35 per user a month, and every lead lands in a pipeline.
What you give up. There is no free plan, and billing is per user with six months paid up front. Its Trustpilot score was 2.3 from 60 reviews in October 2026.
8. Meta Business Suite
Best for: low message volume, with no extra app
- 1K contacts
- Free
- 10K contacts
- Free
- Free plan
- Yes
- Rating
- No score
What you gain. Meta’s own tools cost nothing and need no third-party access to your account. They handle instant replies and FAQ buttons. You can also set up to five keyword replies.
What you give up. The comment-to-message option is basic, and Meta’s help pages disagree on whether it matches hashtags or plain words. Keyword replies must match exactly and wait 15 minutes. Both are set up on desktop, and there are no follow-up flows.

Questions people ask
Is there a free alternative to ManyChat?
Yes. Chatfuel’s comment autoreply is free with no stated contact limit. LinkDM’s free plan sends 1,000 DMs a month and ReplyRush’s sends 1,500. Meta Business Suite has a basic comment-to-message option at no cost. The free Instagram DM automation tools page compares every free plan.
What is the cheapest ManyChat alternative for 10,000 contacts?
For comment-to-DM alone, Chatfuel costs nothing. Among paid plans on this page, InstantDM’s flat $12 a month is the lowest, against $162 on ManyChat.
Are ManyChat alternatives safe for my Instagram account?
Every tool on this page says it uses Meta’s official API, and most claim Meta Business Partner status. CreatorFlow describes itself as a Meta Tech Provider instead. Avoid any tool that asks for your Instagram password, because official tools connect through a Meta login.
