What the free plan covers

The free plan replies to comments on Instagram and Facebook, and on TikTok too. You choose whether each reply goes out as a private DM, as a public answer under the comment, or as both at once. Chatfuel’s comment autoreply page states no limit on contacts or messages. Everything else needs the Business plan, including AI replies and WhatsApp, as well as the team inbox and the CRM.

How the AI credit wallet works

The Business plan includes a monthly credit worth its own price, which pays for AI replies and some messaging. Unused credit expires at the end of the month. When the credit runs out, the bot pauses unless you top up, or connect your own OpenAI key and pay OpenAI directly.

So the real monthly cost depends on how much AI you use. An account that relies on AI for every conversation should expect top-ups.

Agency plans

The Agency plan covers three bots for agencies with several clients. Chatfuel’s pricing page and help center name these tiers differently, and the help center lists larger Agency tiers with bigger credit wallets.

How Chatfuel compares on price

Chatfuel is the cheapest full chatbot platform we track at 10,000 contacts, because its price does not grow. SendPulse costs $74 and ManyChat $162 at that size.

The trade-off is payments. Chatfuel’s help center says payment processors cannot be connected, and the Chatfuel alternatives page covers tools that can.
